Biography
I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist holding a Professional Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College and I am a pre-accredited member of the IACP and adhere to their code of ethics.
I welcome clients with a wide range of issues, and I have a particular interest, in the area of trauma, suicide ideation and domestic violence based on my experience working with Women’s Aid and The Samaritans for many years. I have worked with a variety of client issues and needs and my approach to counselling emphasises a warm and collaborative relationship. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is central to the therapeutic process, it is through this connection that change and healing occurs.
I work primarily from a Humanistic Person-centred approach but also draw from other theories based on the needs of my clients. I believe each client experiences issues uniquely and my aim is to provide a safe non-judgmental therapeutic space to facilitate my clients individual presenting issues.
Pre-accredited member of Irish Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP)
