Niamh O'Sullivan

Adult and Adolescent Psychotherapist & Counsellor

Biography

I have completed an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. My focus as a therapist is to build a trusting and non-judgemental relationship, where a client can feel safe to discuss their issues. I offer clients the coping techniques to help them manage difficult emotions or thoughts.
I have extensive experience working therapeutically with adults and adolescents who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts and/or self-harm. Adolescent psychotherapy helps young people make sense of what they may be feeling as their body and mind changes. Speaking with someone confidentially can encourage them to open up and learn such coping skills.
I also have experience providing counselling in a range of areas such as: Anxiety, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Self-Esteem, Self-Harm, Loss and Bereavement, Bullying, Abuse, Co-Dependency, Anger Management, Personal Development, Family Issues, Trauma.
Providing a warm and supportive space, I can help clients to develop an understanding of themselves and how best to deal with presenting problems. I work as an integrative practitioner meaning I integrate a variety of approaches into my practice. My aim is to create a therapeutic process that is best suited for the individuality of each client.
